"Fans"

(not the trippy kind)

I'm sick, sick, SICK of all the people whining about Flyleaf. So yes, I'm going to rant a bit. Okay guys, this is kind of my opinion: If you are really, truly, a fan of a band (say that three times fast), you'd like them despite lineup changes. Does this seem logical, or am I just crazy? Yeah, it's okay to be upset for a little bit, but seriously, after nearly two months, I think it's time to move on. We're all going to miss Lacey Sturm as Flyleaf's lead singer. But come on, do you really have to insult Kristen and post hateful comments on every Flyleaf video and Facebook post? Especially the ones who say that they're no longer going to listen to the band. They claim to have been huge fans of Flyleaf, but they completely turn their back when Lacey leaves.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm going to continue loving their music. Okay? I'm not worried about how they're going to sound or what's going to happen. And, honestly, you need to give Kristen some credit. Anyone willing to take the place of a much-loved lead singer and be able to listen to all of that hatred and criticism deserves a chance, if not some respect. I think I like her. And I understand that I might be being a bit harsh to people here, but I think I have the right to voice my opinion. Kristen May is a great singer, and although I had my doubts before, I think she's a good choice for Flyleaf's new vocalist.

Rant. Over.
You may now continue with your normal lives.
Oh yes, and all of the pictures in this post belong to Flyleaf, not me.

Cats and Zelda

This is just absolutely adorable! I'm sorry that was kinda random but... This needs to be shared! Seriously, if you don't think pictures of a cat with a Link figurine aren't cute, then... You either don't like Zelda, or you don't like cats. Anyway, just please go look at this. It's adorable.

Release the Panic

Hey! Did you know RED is releasing a new album? Man, where have I been...
So yeah, I like just found this out. But if you're like me and didn't know, it's called "Release the Panic" and it's going to be realesed on February 5 next year. And there's a lyric video for the song, "Releae the Panic." Score!! Oh, and the tracklist is here too.

And "Perfect Life" is here!

Woohoo! I'm excited!

More Fire. This Fire Involves Flyleaf

So, Flyleaf posted something about a little secret show they had, and Kristen May (their new singer, in case you missed that) performed with them for the first time. So there's a video of "Fire Fire". Honestly, I don't think it sounds all that bad. Kristen seems like she'd be able to do a lot of their new songs very well. It's a few of the older ones, like "I'm So Sick" and "Cassie" that I'm worried about. But she is much better than I thought she would be. Anyway, here is the video:

For those of you reading this on a mobile device, here's the link.
And also, if you want to listen to the album version of "Fire Fire," click here.

Fire. Fire?! Fire! Well, Pics of One at Least.

As you're reading this, here are some fire songs for you ;)
Fire Fire - Flyleaf
Fire in the Kitchen - Manafest
Fire it Up - Thousand Foot Krutch
The Flame In All Of Us - Thousand Foot Krutch
Watch it Burn - Disciple

So uh... yeah. My friend had a nice big bonfire at her house the other night, and I took a lot of pictures of it because I'm a pyromaniac. It was pretty. So I thought I would share some of them, cause I don't really think they're half bad.

New Page!

Hello! And yes, I know I already poseted today. But I just updated my Writing page and I also added a new Book Covers page that has all of the book covers I've created for my stories on Figment. So, with that being said, I think that's all. Enjoy the pictures!

And Now On To Disciple

Tomorrow! Yeah, Disciple's new album, "O God Save Us All" is coming out! I just thought I'd post about his since I saw a stream, like with "New Horizons", that you can listen to. I'll probably write more about it tomorrow if I get lucky and someone takes me to Wal-Mart or something to buy the CD. So, enjoy the music!

Final Flyleaf Post for a While, I Promise

So uh, yeah, sorry I'm a little bit late. It's been kinda screwed up around here lately, with the hurricane and school and sleepovers and all that other chaos lately. But here I am! And, last Saturday (Nov. 3), I got my Flyleaf package in the mail! Actually, I wasn't there to receive it myself, since I was at an AWESOME sleepover party, but when my mom came to pick me up, she gave it to me.
By the way, that party was a blast! It was my friend Emily's fifteenth birthday, so she had a party in her cousin's basement. It was me (no DUH), Emily, Nina (the cousin), and Libby. We didn't go to bed until like, six in the morning. Then I woke up at nine, and everyone else got up at eleven. It was interesting. In short, we played logo quiz, listened to Nina and Libby's music (which means mostly Pink Floyd, Nirvana, Green Day, and My Chemical Romance), talked to Siri on the iPad, watched the Percy Jackson movie (Nina and I talked through the entire thing), played/watched Just Dance 3(?), and ate cupcakes. Yeah, it was a lot of fun!!

Okay. Sorry, got a bit sidetracked there. So, back to the Flyleaf stuff, I got the cheapest package, the one with the CD and the t-shirt. I was thinking about the poster too, but when I got the CD, I realized that the album "booklet" folds out into a poster. So I'm probably gonna ask my dad to color copy it at his office. Maybe I'll get some for my friends too. Except almost none of them like Flyleaf. Sigh. Well, I'll get some extra copies anyway.
Oh, and I finally got to listen to the whole album! My favorite songs are... Who am I kidding? I like them all!! Their new version of "Broken Wings" is great, by the way. And I may have mentioned this before, but I love how some of the other band members (Sameer and Pat) sing on some songs. Honestly, I think this is my favorite Flyleaf album. Yeah, it might not be as heavy as "Memento Mori" (disclaimer: listen to "Green Heart), but I love it. And even though this has nothing to do with anything, but they mention fire a lot on this album too.

So uh... With that, see ya later!

"Hold fast, don't you look at the past. Because hope and love last beyond the end." - "Stand"
"That's enough now, dry your tears. It's been a long eleven years." - "Fire Fire"
I love these lyrics!

I. Hate. Hurricanes.

Well, it could be worse. I could live in New Jersey.
Yes, people, I live somewhere near the East coast. So that stupid Hurricane Sandy had to come along and kill my electricity. You know what makes it even worse? Yesterday was the release date of "New Horizons!" Okay, the orginal orginal plan was to buy the CD at like Wal-Mart or something the day it came out. That got scratched when I saw the pre-order package that came with that awesome-looking t-shirt. The orginal plan then was to order the t-shirt package thingy, and then look up the songs on like YouTube or something yesterday. That's where Sandy came in and knocked out my power. So here I am, sitting in the library, blogging and listening to this stream of "New Horizons" online. Anyway, once I get my shirt and CD, I'll blog about that.
I haven't been able to listen to the whole album yet, but so far, I'm liking it. "Fire Fire" is great!
Hang in there, readers! Don't get blown away!

Guys, I'm in Denial

I feel like someone broke up with me. I guess that's one way to put it. I don't know if I can handle it, I'm not sure what to say. Last night, I did my sneaky thing and checked all of my favorite band's Facebook pages, and one post caught my attention. "ANNOUNCEMENT from Flyleaf." Of course I clicked on it.
Geez, I was so unprepared for this:

"O God Save Us All"

Hey! So I checked Disciple FB page today (cause I have ways of doing that) and I see a little announcement about a card you can get that allows you to download some new songs in advance! So I, being the cheapscape/genius I am, go on YouTube and search for "O God Save Us All". I am rewarded with this:

Oh yes. This, just like "Call You Out" did for Flyleaf, jsut reassured me that Disciple is still as heavy as they were on "Scars Remain" and "Horseshoes & Handgrenades". The full album is being released on November 13, literally just weeks after "New Horizons". Oh my gosh I can't wait!

Anyone else as excited as I am?

Oh, and on a completely unrelated note, I was thinking of doing a total overhaul of my blog's template. Any thoughts?

Generic News and Thoughts That I Think You Should Read Even Though You're Supposed to be Working or Something

Longest title in the history of mankind. Score!

Aaaaand moving right along.

So I'm still trying to get used to the new Blogger interface... I tried to hang on to the old one as long as I could, but I guess this isn't as bad as I thought. Just... I dunno, different. But not like completely alien. It sorta has this Google Docs-ish feel to it, and I happen to use that thing a lot. But anyway, if this thing looks like freakishly formatted, that would be why.

And I'm gonna keep jumping from topic to topic because I can get away with it. I asked my friend the other day if she thinks I have ADD, and she says, "Without a doubt yes."

Next topic of discussion: Music! Yeah, so hopefully you've listened to "Call You Out" and liked it. If you did, I have good news for you! "New Horizons" (the entire album) is going to be realeased on Tuesday, October 30! EXCITED!!
And also, Thousand Foot Krutch finally released their remixes for "Light Up The Sky" and "Let The Sparks Fly"! You can download them here. And while I'm talking about TFK, I would so kill for a wristband that says "Be The Change". Note to self: write TFK an email.

Yes, I've been having an obsession with wristbands lately. I had an OCD moment the other day when I went to my friends' School of Rock show and bought a wristband there. And then I realized I could put wristbands on both of my hands. *slow, sarcastic clapping*.

So yes, there is more still! Click the jump to read it!
You know how tempting it is.
Just click it.

"Call You Out"

Okay, I'll be honest here: I was not having the best morning today. Lack of breakfast maybe, ot it might've been my PE class (I cannot do a "correct" push-up to save my life). Either way, I was feeling pretty pathetic. So I treated myself to homeroom this afternoon, which was okay. At one point, I got a bit bored and decided to check all of my news feeds on my Yahoo! page. And I'm still not a Facebooker, but I do subscribe to some of my bands, Flyeaf in this instance, through my Yahoo! page. Guess what I saw? "Listen then share our latest song 'Call You Out' from out upcoming album 'New Horizons'. What do you think?"
Yep, that made my day better :D
So here's the link to the song: Call You Out - Flyleaf
It's much heavier compared to "New Horizons", which was something I, along with a few friends of mine, had been kinda worried about. I mean, you have "New Horizons", which is a very happy and upbeat song, but what about the other "darker" Flyleaf songs? Well, "Call You Out" just reassured me that there will be some.
And it also made me happy.

Oh, speaking of music, of you haven't gotten TFK's "The End is Where We Begin", it's on sale for $7.99 or something like that on iTunes. Check it out!

Uprise Fest 2012

Did I mention this yet? No? Huh. What's wrong with me?
The main stage from our seats on the
hill. Except we were down there
standing 90% of the time. It was epic.

OH YEAH! Right. So on Saturday (Sept. 15) went on a 2-hour drive out to this Christian music concert known as Uprise Festival. And you better believe it was a blast! It was like a mini Creation Fest basically, it was Friday and Saturday, but it involved camping, so we only went Saturday. Anyway, it was me, my dad, and my friends Jess, Patrick, Libby and Zach. My dad and a bunch of teenagers. Actually, come to think of it, we really weren't all that annoying. Nobody talked on the ride there (I mean it was so early), and everyone slept on the way home. But wither way, it was an awesome time. Seeing Disciple, Thousand Foot Krutch, TobyMac, Peter Furler, Icon For Hire, and a bunch of other bands was totally fun. So um, if you want to hear more about it and maybe see some video links, click the jump.

Front Page AGAIN?

So... woke up late this morning. Walked on treadmill for my PE class (I hate it. Sorry, but I hate it). Took shower. Ate mini bagel. Logged onto computer. Logged into school. Checked Yahoo! feeds. Checked Figment.

Again?! But yeah seriously... "That Band Story" is my book! And it got featured! The funniest thing is though, it's not even a complete story yet. I mean, the whole plot is out and all, but there are some points where I need to put the band's name in (I have yet to think of one) and a song or two. But still... pretty cool! And almost exactly a month after the first time I got featured!

Oh yeah, you can read the story on Figment here.
Or os a Google Doc here.

New Horizons Music Video

Probably my favorite Flyleaf video to date. I absolutely love this!

Oh. Right. So today the music video for Flyleaf's song "New Horizons" was realeased! And it took me a while to find it, so since you're here, I'll save you the trouble:
New Horizons
I watched it twice already. And I'm starting to wonder if the ending has to do with Lacey's birthday (which is today, September 4). I don't know, it's just a thought.
But anyway, enjoy the awesome music video and have a great day!

Subject 10

The cover for Subject 10
(c) Me
Yeah... I've been working on a story (that will hopefully become a book later) and I decided I needed a cover for it. And so, while I'm not half-watching... Hold on, lemme ask what we're watching here... Okay, it's the Republican National Convention or something like that. Anyway, using GIMP and picmonkey.com, I created this cover for my book-in-progress, "Subject 10". So, while I'm at it, I'm gonna do some self-promotion and tell you that you can read what I have so far either on Figment.com or on Google Docs, using the links provided below. I hope you enojoy it!!

I fail at keeping this blog updated

Sorry!

Okay well for starters, in music-related news, both "Draw the Line" (Disciple) and "New Horizons" (Flyleaf) are released as singles on iTunes! "Draw the Line" is $.99, and "New Horizons" is $1.29, but they're both worth every penny :D I just absolutely love them both!

Moving along from that, I had my friends Libby and Emily over yesterday to hang out. I guess maybe as a nice way to end the summer. :( So sad about it ending... but oh well. Anyway, we did a lot of talking. We also went and saw Brave at a movie theatre near my house, and that was pretty fun. Oh, and we drank Mountain Dew floats. Like a root beer float, but with MD (technically they were Libby's idea). It was DELICOUS!!! And I only made a mess ONCE! New record!

And then last night we went to youth group and I had a near miss with the edge of the barn. We were playing capture the flag and I was running past the barn and there was a small slope there. I reached out to tag someone, then I lost my footing, and started sliding down the slope. And there's part of the barn (which is made up metal) that sticks out over the slope so I basically BARELY avoided cutting my forehead on the metal and sending myself to the ER. That would NOT have been fun. But I got out okay, minus one grass stain and I had the wind knocked out of me. But I'm okay :)

Anyways, that's about all for news! Hopefully I'll blog again soon!

More Line Drawing

Found another (better?) YouTube video for the supposed "radio version" of Disciple's "Draw the Line". So um... I thought some people might like to look at it.

"Draw the Line" (radio version)

This is just my thought, but I have a feeling this isn't the final version of the song. Maybe it's just me, but it sounds a littl too... I dunno, but it doesn't seem totally finished yet. Maybe a demo version?
Well anyway, here's that. Enjoy the awesome music!

Figment Feature

GUESS WHAT!
Haha, yeah, one of my stories, "The Stupid Dress", made it onto the Figment's front page! No lie!!

Sorry, I'm being a little overreactive. But it's so cool! Anyway, if you'd like, you can read it on Figment, or I also have a link to a Google Doc if that's more your style.

Moving away from that, I also read something on GamesRadar today about video game charactes competing in the Olympics, so you can read that right here.

And that's all for now!

Ohio Trip

Top Thrill Dragster
Okay, the only real reason I'm writing this now is cause I got this new Blogger app and I'm trying it out. So there.
Anyway, this past weekend my family and I went to Ohio for... Four days. We got there LATE Friday night. Saturday, we went to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame/Museum, which was fun (except for te fact that I'm musically challenged and it didn't make a whole lot of sense but oh well). I got some really nice earrings there too. On Sunday, we went to this Science museum that was pretty much right next door to the Hall of Fame. And then Sunday evening, we drove to Sandusky and went to Cedar Point Sunday night, all of Monday and a good part of Tuesday. We got home right around midnight on Tuesday. So yeah, that's my trip!
There are more pictures after the jump!
Oh yes, and while I'm here, I think I should point out that Flyleaf's new single "New Horizons" is going to be released Tuesday, August 21! Yay!

Draw The Line & New Horizons

Guess who found a new Disciple song? ME!
Yeah, so that's what happens when you browse YouTube for live Diciple videos. You come across videos of them performing new songs from their new album, "O God Save Us All". This song is called "Draw The Line". Honestly, I've heard better Disciple songs, and this song really didn't get my as hyped up for their new album like "New Horizons" did for Flyleaf. But, eiher way, it's still worth checking out. Hey, it's Disciple. you know you want to look at it :)
Draw The Line

And this is weird, cause as I'm writing this, my friend Zach texted me a link to where you can listen to Flyleaf's "New Horizons", and it's not live. Like, recorded. In a studio. Bonus!
And here's the link for that:
New Horizons
Just to clear things up, this is NOT YouTube. So you'll click the play button next to Flyleaf.
The End.

Spaaaaaaace!

Guess who's (sorta) actually going to space?
Like, real space.
Wheatley!
I dunno, sccording to GameInformer, who got it from the official Portal 2 blog, someone engraved a picture of Wheatley from Portal 2 on a panel that is headed for the International Space Station. Pretty crazy, huh?

New Horizons Single

So yeah, I forget if I already posted about this, but sometime this summer (I think) Flylaf is releasing their new single, "New Horizons" (the name also lends itself to their future album). Recently, I came across the picture that they're officially going to use for the single. So far, noithing has been released for the album itself, but I thought I'd share this picture. Mostly because I just about freaked out when I saw it. Why can't it be out already?!

Flyleaf Fan Art

It never occured to me that a band could have fan art.
So apparently, people have been submitting their own ideas of covers for Flyleaf's new album, "New Horizons", just for the heck of it. Anwyays, I came across it this afternoon, and I thought I'd share the link here, since they're just so awesome!
And they also make me want to beg for this single/CD to come out already. Yeesh Flyleaf, hurry up already!
Yeah, I'm pretty psyched :D

Happy Fourth Of July!

Or whatever you prefer to call it :)
I made some midget cupcakes to celebrate today, so I thought I'd share some pics since they're JUST SO CUTE!
Yeah, they're so adorable and tiny :)
Other than that, not much ahs been going on around here. I finally went and bought myself a new GameCube with the giftcard my friend Libby gave me for my birthday. I love it! I couldn't get the skin off of the old one (my old GC has a Super Smash Bros. skin on it), but I still like it. Plus, I finally got MarioKart Double Dash to work too!
Still waiting for Flyleaf to release "New Horizons". AHHHH I WANT IT NOW! It may just hold me over until Skillet's new release in the fall or whenever it is. Oh, Disciple's supposed ot be releasing something new this year, too! I believe it's going to be called "O God Save Us All", but I'm not 100% sure.
Anyways, that's all I really have to say! Happy Fourth of July to everyone!

Figment

Hey! So my friend in school was telling me about this website called Figment, and I just signed up about two days ago. Basically, it's like DeviantArt, but for writing. I made my own profile, so I thought you might like to check it out!

It's June, and I'm still talking about Winter Jam

It's true! Haha, well, Skillet posted on their Facebook page an announcement about a Vlog (help me here: is that short for Video Log?) for Winter Jam, and I thought I shold post it since, well, y'know, WINTER JAM IS AWESOME! Anyways, here's an official Winter Jam-sponsored Skillet vid.

New Horizons

So if you remember a few posts back, I wrote about Flyleaf's benefit concert for the family of their sound engineer, who died in a car accident. During that concert, Flyleaf performed one of their new songs, named "New Horizons". The band made an announcement on Facebook today that "New Horizons" will be the first single off of their new album, and it will also share its name with the album title. Also, just to add a little bit more to this short side note, here's a link to Flyleaf performing "New Horizons" in concert.

Love Calculator

So this is, yet again, a silly post, but it's actually kinda interesting (to me, at least).
You see, at the beginning of the month, when I had my birthday party, my one friend (I'm not mentioning any names, but I'm she knows who she is) brought out her iPod and showed all of us this "love calculator" app she found (only she would look for strange stuff like that). Anyways, she entertained herself by testing her name with every member of OneDirection, and finally gave m an unwanted turn. So what did I do? I typed fictional character names, of course! And my other friend did the same, and we cracked up over the results. We were wondering though, how it worked, and I thought it had to do with how similar the two names were to each other.
Right now, you're probably wondering what the heck this is all leading up to. Last night, I was thinking about it, and I went to everybody's best friend, Google, to find out the answer. I found this link to Yahoo! Answers, and it actually explained it really well. To an extent, I was kinda right. It doesn't really have to do with how similar the names are, but rather what letters are in the names. I just thtought it was pretty cool, and the way they explained it was easy, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to share.
If, for whatever reason, you don't want to use the link, I've put my own explanation after the jump.

Flyleaf Benefit Concert

On Sunday (May 20), Flyleaf held a benefit concert somewhere in Texas. They did it to raise money for the family of their sound engineer, Rich Caldwell, who died in a car accident (full details can be found in this video announcement by the band). If I had enough money and a few friends I could drag with me, I seriously would've loved to go. Except 1) it was in Texas 2) it was on short notice 3) my family barely tolerated Skillet at WinterJam. But still, from what I've heard, the setlist for the show was awesome. Anyway, the reason for posting this is because they performed one of their new songs, "New Horizons" at the concert, and I found a video with some decent audio quality. So I thought I'd post it here, in case there's any Flyleaf fans who read this blog. Plus, I found another few songs with good quality, so I thought I'd put them here too. So please enjoy!
On a side note, Flyleaf announced that they're going to be giving "Broken Wings" an official release on their new album. Geez, I really can't wait for this to come out. Flyleaf always makes me wait too long for new music! Haha.

TasteKid

Hello everybody, I know this is random once again, but I was looking around the internet for some suggestions for something I'm writing (I needed some bands that sounded like Three Days Grace) and I came across this website called TasteKid. Basically, you type in your interests, and then the search engine thingy looks for suggestions for you. Anyway, I thought it was a cute little site, and it's actually a lot of fun to play around with.

Console to Closet

Okay, so I just thought about posting this now, but a few weeks ago there was an article on Zelda Universe about this website called Console to Closet. What it is is a website with outfits that someone has designed based off of various video games. For example, there's one for everyone's favorite antagonistic AI, GLaDOS, Assassin's Creed, the magical Princess Zelda, and even Amaterasu from the game Okami. So if this kind of thing interests you, it's really a great website to check out. There are so, so, so many different designs to look at, I can bet ten dollars there's something you'll like! So you can either click that link above, which will take you to the homepage, or you can go to the archive and see the entire list of outfits on the site! Have fun!

Sorry, this was the student example in my art lesson today and I just about burst out laughing.

Please don't tell me this is supposed to be a drawing of a cell phone.

Double Post

Okay, yeah, I posted, what like three hours ago? No matter. I just thought of something I was meaning to put on my blog at some point in time (and I totally forgot until now), but if you have some free time at some point (as little as five minutes is okay), you should check out some more links. They go to two of my friend's deviantArt pages (art website, in case you didn't know). And since they're both really freaking great artists you should look at them. So do it. DO IT NOW!
SoxPaws - Awesome Sonic the Hedgehog art and some really great manga/anime in there too. (by the way, all the pics she does of Silver are cute! *fangirl scream* No really, I had them on my iPod wallpaper for like five months. They're that amazing.)
cavemankong - Honestly, he has everything and a pegasus up here. Some Kingdom Hearts stuff, Halo, Assassin's Creed, etc. (And that Zelda one is cool. So do yourself a favor and look at it!)

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go hide in a closet for the rest of the day...

Random Disciple Concert Vids

Okay, I got a little bit bored, and I looked up some Disciple videos on Youtube. Originally, I was gonna just listen to the music, but I found some really sweet live vids that someone filmed with what I swear must be the greatest camera on the face of the earth. Anyways, I thought I'd post a few since Disciple's an awesome band and stuff.

"Invisible" (Disciple) - Yeah this performance isn't as... er, I dunno what the word is, but anyway, they were opening for the Newsboys (says the description) so that could be the reason. Anyways, this is probably my favorite Disciple song ever, so it was kinda cool to see them perfrom it live.
"The Ballad of St. Augustine" (Disciple) - On the other side, you've got this video, where they're opening for RED. See the difference? XD

Alright, so that's my nonsense post of the week. Hopefully I'll be able to come up with something more worthwhile to read one of these days, but until then... you've got thse awesome Disciple shows to check out!

New Skillet Podcast!

Yay! Skillet FINALLY posted their Winter Jam podcast!! You HAVE to check it out, RIGHT NOW! DO IT!

Winter Jam 2012 Skillet Podcast

Haha my favorite part is the Kari Jobe and Korey Cooper swap (personally though, Kari reminded me A LOT of Lacey Sturm from Flyleaf). Anyway, this is the best fifteen minutes of Skillet podcast you may EVER see.

On a side note, I got my TFK and Disciple stuff in the mail today. Doubley happy!

Stupid Annoying Flyleaf Fans

Disclaimer: I do not hate Flyleaf fans (if I did, that would be ironic, considering I am one). I'm just kinda in an annoyed mood with a few of them who... well, you'll see...

So since I'm too lazy to purchase music on iTunes, I like to listen to songs on Youtube. And sometimes, I get a little bored, and sometimes, I read comments on the video. There's nothing wrong with most of the comments. Some of them like to start arguments about religion though, which is a topic I'm not going to get myself into. (Flyleaf is definitely a Christian band, END OF DISCUSSION!) Sometimes, there's actually people trying to be helpful, and they post their thoughts about what the song means, either in general or what it means especially to them. There's nothing wrong with that either. It's just that some of the comments really, really bug me.
For example, a lot of the people trying to be helpful often say things like, "I think this is about Lacey's..." or "I think this is about this that happened in Lacey's life..." and so on and so forth. I mean, yeah, there are a lot of songs that have been inspired by her (she's the lead singer, by the way), like "Treasure" was about her engagement and "Beautiful Bride" had to do with something in her family, but not EVERY SONG is about her. I just wish these people would realize that this band isn't about Lacey, it's about James, Sameer, Jared, and Pat too. This isn't some pop culture band where everything revolves around the lead vocalist. I'm not saying that there aren't a number of songs based off of her experiences, but they way that some people put it, it seems like Lacey is the most important. But what if there wasn't a guitar? Or bass guitar? Or
drums? You see what I'm trying to point out here? Everyone in the band is important!
Okay, so I think that's it for my Flyleaf rant. Hopefully that made at least some kind of sense. If it didn't, then you just wasted a few minutes of your life. Sorry to make you suffer through that, but it had really been bothering me for a while now. Okay. Done ranting. Go back to reading now.

Birthday!!

Hehe yay today's my birthday! I'm 14 now!

Alright so time for the long birthday blog post... Oh this will be fun. Just try not to fall asleep, okay?

Okay, so Thursday night, I went out to Texas Roadhouse for dinner with my grandparents, and I made a HUGE mess with the cake. Friday night, I had my best friends at my house for a sleepover and I made a HUGE mess with the cake. It was like a serious deja vu. Moving right along, I had a BLAST with my friends Libby, Emily, and Nina. Nina's a bit... well, she's a bit crazy, but we lover her anyway. Even if she tortures us with One Direction (whom I call Misdirected) music. We went to this pottery painting place near my house first. I painted a cute unicorn, Libby pained a cat to look like her cat, Emily did a yin-yang symbol on a plate, and Nina painted something she had drawn earlier in the week on a tile. It was fun! So then we came back home and basically just hung out in my room until three in the morning. We were just absolutely crazy! Especially since I borrowed my Dad's minifridge and put a twelve-pack of Mountain Dew in it!
The next morning, it took EONS for Nina to get out of bed (I even dumped a bunch of Beanie Baby unicorns on her). But eventually, we all got downstairs for presents and breakfast. Of course, I went for the presents XD And they were all awesome! My younger brother gave me some "Bro Coupons", which are good for him doing anything for me. From my parents, I got a backpack (It has pretty stars on it!), Zelda t-shirt (YAY!!!), post-it notes, neon whiteboard markers, sharpies and pencil case that looks like a Converse sneaker (just amazing!). Nina bought me a really nice hat with butterflies on it (I love hats by the way. That one's number 16.), and some green, blue, and purple nail polish. My favorite colors! Libby gave me an AWESOME drawing (which is going right up in my bulletin board!), some new magnetic nail polish (can't wait to try it out!), and a gift card. Finally, from Emily I got the new, third and final Kane Chronicles book by Rick Riordan, The Serpent's Shadow, (I wanna read it NOW!!) and some new earrings in my favorite color!
So that's my birthday! Thanks everyone for the presents and gift cards, and thanks Libby, Emily, and Nina for coming over! I had an AWESOME time with all of you!

By the way, if you would like to see some pics of my presents, just click the jump.

The End is Where We Begin, Part 2

I apoligize for not posting about this sooner, my days got pretty busy. Anyways, last Tuesday (April 17) Thousand Foot Krutch (TFK) released their new album which you probably heard about if you've been following my rencent blog posts. It's called "The End is Where We Begin", and I got it the day after it came out. I dragged my family out to Best Buy to get it. It is honestly an awesome CD. It takes a little bit of getting used to the more rap style of some of the songs, but they're all great. My favorite songs are "The End is Where We Begin" (4), "Be Somebody" (7), "Courtesy Call" (9), "War of Change" (10), and "Fly on the Wall" (13). I really like them all though.

Anyways, that's about all I have to say. Oh, and I updated some stuff on my "Writing" page, so be sure to check it out! And there's more pics of the CD after the jump!

10 hours!!

So yesterday I logged onto my computer after a nice little weekend in Doswell, Virginia (Kings Dominion, if you're wondering) and I noticed this nice little announcement on Thousand Foot Krutch's Facebook wall.

So if that made NO sense to you whatsoever, here you go: on Tuesday, April 17 at 5PM Central time (6PM Eastern) TFK is gonna be having a live video chat. Pretty straighforward. So since I thought this was just pretty cool, I figured I would share it. I more than likely won't be able to watch it (going to see a movie with my friends!! :D), but if any readers of this blog take the time to check it out, please tell me about it!!

And while I'm here, as of right now, it'sonly 10 HOURS until the release of "The End is Where We Begin"!

Pages Update!

Due to the overwhelming response to my poll (did you see my sarcasm there?), I now have not one, not two, not three, but FOUR shiny new pages for you to look at! Yay!
Yep, so I still have the Zelda stuff page (but with a few new pictures), and I added a Pokemon Stuff page, a page with links to my writing, and a page with half-decent scans straight outta my sketchbook. So I hope you enjoy these new features here, and please let me know what you think of them!

Tabs Test

So if you're reading this on like Google Reader, My Yahoo or something, then you should visit the actual site. Seriously, you'll want to.

Anyways, I've been looking at this new-ish feature on Blogger called pages. I made a new demo page (as you can possibly see above). I'm not quite sure yet if I like it, so I'll give it a few days. If I do end up liking it, I'll probably make a few more (Pokemon memorabilia, writing, etc.) so please let me know what you think either with the poll on the right or via a comment below. (The poll will close at midnight on Wedensday)

And if you need help navigating to it, I have two hopefully helpful screenshots down here showing you where to find the tabs.

Glog & Music

Yeah, I just finished another one of my character glogs. It still needs a few more things here and there, but it's essentially done.
By the way, I think this is the most I've posten in a really, really, really long time.

Moving right along, I need something else to put in this empty space, so heres a bunch of songs that are stuck in my head right now.
Break Your Knees - Flyleaf
Something I Can Never Have - Flyleaf   [[cover]]
Just Like Me - Hawk Nelson
Whatever Reason- Disciple
More Than A Love Song - Fireflight

Yup, that's just about all I have to say right about now. I'll post something more worthwhile soon, I promise!

Titles

I am so proud of myself. I just came up with a title for one of my stories I finished recently. It's that "romancy" story I wrote in February for my writing challenge, and I finally came up with something that I like and think I might keep.
You see, I have this problem with names and titles. I mean, I even have trouble coming up with titles for these blog posts! And don't get me started on character names; those can take me weeks to decide on permanently. So I guess it's safe to say that I was pretty excited when I came up with this title and I liked it instantly.
So how it happened: I was Googling (actually I was Yahooing because Google's acting weird on my computer) tips for coming up with title ideas, and one stood out to me. Take an existing expression, and twist it around a little, make it a play on words. So one thing that came to mind later on was internet memes. The first one that I come up with: "The cake is a lie," from the original Portal video game. Yes, I'm a bit of a geek. Anyways, the point of the story I wrote was pretty straightforward: There's a guy, and he's pretending to date this girl so that this other really annoying girl leaves him alone. Complicated, and yes, very cliche. But then I was thinking "y'know the cake is a lie... cake kinda sounds like date... The date is a lie! Ohmygosh!"
Yeah, so something good came out of my geekiness

The End is Where We Begin

Yeah, so I probably should've posted something about this before, but I just keep forgetting. Anyways, Thousand Foot Krutch is releasing a new album, "The End is Where We Begin" , on April 17. And no, I cannot wait for it. I've listened to a few of the songs on YouTube, and they just sound absolutely amazing. Seriousy, I want to get this so bad.
So the reason I'm remembering this is because I read this interview from a magazine this evening, and I thought I'd share that too. So there's that, and also a few links to some songs on YouTube.

Trademark Nonsense

This afternoon, I logged onto Dictionary.com to look up a word (no kidding) and this article caught my eye. According to it, Facebook has trademarked the word "book", which essentially means that you cannot use it without Facebook's permission. My first reaction: "WhatTheHeck?!" Seriously, you look at this and think, wait a sec, so if I say, "I read Savvy for lit club; it ws a good book," could Facebook sue me? I mean, really, if they can do this, could companies trademark words like "the"? It just seems really, really, really stupid to me, that's all. Therefore, it deserved my strange opinion.

Talking to my iPod

Yeah, when i get bored I talk to my iPod. It doesn't do much, but it plays random songs. (And no, I don't have Siri or whatever it's called)

Me: What's up?
iPod: The time is 5:17 pm
Me: Play song, "Imperfection"
iPod: Now playing songs by The Summer Obbsession
Me: You're a moron!!
iPod: ---
Me: Play song, "Monster".
iPod: Playing songs by Third Day.
Me: You need to learn some discipline.
iPod: Now playing songs by Disciple.
Me: Do you have ANY friends?
iPod: Playing album "Flyleaf"
Me: The cake is a lie.
iPod: Playing album "Collide"
Me: Can I have cookie?
iPod: Playing album "Cities"
Me: Do you want to go to youth group tonight?
iPod: No match found.
Me: Shut up.
iPod: ---

So that's that our conversations are like, mostly. It can get pretty interesting.
Anyways, I'll try to post somthing more worthwhile another time. Until then...

Happy Valentine's Day!

Or happy Singles Appreciation Day, if you celebrate that instead.

Yep, so I'm spending Valentine's Day happy and alone. I am happy for those who have someone special to share it with. Personally, I could do without all of the mushy stuff. I'm just happy with my free candy.

Winter Jam 2012!!!

WHOO!!! I WENT TO WINTER JAM LAST NIGHT!!! IT WAS AWESOME!!!!
Okay, random yelling is over. As I said, I went to Winter Jam last night! $10 for 10 bands. AND ONE OF THEM WAS SKILLET!!! I went with my mom, my dad, my brother Paul, my BFF Libby, and her brother (who is also my friend) Zach. It was TOTALLY worth standing in the rain for an hour. They bands there were: Group 1 Crew, Building 429, Newsong, Kari Jobe, Peter Furler, Sanctus Real, and Skillet. And, to be completely honest, I hardly knew any of those songs they played. There were a few Newsboys songs that Peter Furler played, one or two Sanctus Real songs I knew, but nothing I was completely familiar with. And then the last, but DEFINITELY not least, Skillet!
Click the jump to read about it!

Long Time No Post!

So the crazy, hectic, yet awesome Christmas season is finally over. I have finally found some time to blog. Okay, that's a big lie. I'm just lazy. So this will be one big fun post with everything of some importance that has happened since I last wrote. If you're in a rush... Well, see below. Otherwise, this will be an interesting post.

- I went Christmas shopping at the mall with a bunch of the girls in my youth group
- I had a bunch of friends over during Christmas break! It was AWESOME!!!
- I got some pretty amazing Christmas presents! A big thank you to all of my family and friends!!
- I went to a small New Years party with a few of my friends last night! It was fun!!

So yeah, that's about it. I'll go into more detail further on, but that's a pretty good summary of it!

Christmas Shopping

So it's kind of a tradition in my youth group that all of the girls go Christmas shopping every year. This year was no different. Altogether, there were five of us (plus two adults): Emily, Libby, Nina, Brittany, and me. We went to the big bad mall nearby, which proved to be quite the experience. It was two weeks before Christmas, so the traffic wasn't bad, but Nina is a bit of a shopaholic. Emily and I, on the other hand, don't fequent malls. Libby's somewhere in the middle. Anyways, Nina basically dragged us into some really pointless stores just so that she could buy her own Christmas presents. Long story. Note to self: lock Nina in closet next time we go shopping.

For lunch, we ate at Subway. We had a coupon for three footlongs for $15 or something like that so we split into groups of two. Poor Subway workers, we probably confused them soooo much! But it turned out good, and most of us got all of our shopping done.
