Creative Wednesday: Lexi

Hello everyone! Creative Wednesday is here again, and this week I'm featuring my friend Lexi, who is a great friend of mine and also a published author! She has written two books, Step-Twins and Triplets-in-Law. You should totally check them out! They're available for purchase on Amazon.com, and you can get them in a physical form, or for your Kindle.

I have my own copy of Step-Twins, and it's a book I really enjoyed. I really encourage you to check out those links, and you can read some of Step-Twins after the jump!

 Prologue
“Look at those girls! Can you believe the resemblance? And step-sisters?”

Lindsey rolled her eyes. So did Rachel. They had only been related for twenty minutes and people were already falling over themselves with the fact they were identical. Did I mention they were step-sisters?

Anyway, even though they were only twelve, they had already busied themselves with poking each other and arguing with one another. “You’re ugly!” Rachel whispered to her step-sister.

Lindsey gave her a look. “You’re the spitting image of me.”

“Yeah, but you’re wearing pink.”

“So are you!”

“And your hair looks like a poodle.”
“So does yours!”
“And you’re contradicting everything I say.” Rachel was proud of her grown-up word. Lindsey was about to say something in return, but her voice faltered.

Rachel, with a triumphant look, faced the rest of the reception. Lindsey rolled her eyes, jumped off her chair, and went to the dance floor. Rachel made an angry growling sound in her throat. The happy couple just sat together, smiling at each other.

“Mom,” Rachel whispered, “Can we go play basketball?”

Her mother sighed. “Honey, we’re still at the reception!”

“I know that,” she pouted, “and I’m bored.”

Sighing again, her mother said, “Why not go dance with all the other children?” “Why? It’s because she’s dancing, Mom!”

“That’s enough. I don’t want to hear one more word, young lady. She’s your sister now; go dance.” Then she added forcefully, “That’s an order.” Rachel slumped off her chair and stood by the dance floor, where Lindsey had begun tap dancing, much to the enjoyment of everyone, especially one boy and a man who stood off to themselves. Scratching at her itchy pink dress, Rachel wondered how on earth her step-sister could tap dance in hers. They had both been forced to wear the same hair styles and the same dresses. In Rachel’s opinion, it was quite embarrassing for the both of them; or, at least it was for her. Lindsey finished her number with great flourish and excused herself to use the restroom. Rachel decided to wander off, and maybe even sneak a taste of the icing on the cake! Walking casually up to the gigantic, towering pastry, she tried to get some on her finger. But someone walked up behind her. Fearing it was an adult, Rachel spun around. Whew! It was only that boy watching Lindsey. “Hi!” he said, kind of nervously. “I’m Jon, and I’m twelve years old. What’s your name?” “I’m Rachel.” She squeaked.

He grinned. “Cool. Say, you wanna go play hide and go seek, or something? It’s getting boring.” Rachel couldn’t believe her eyes, but she casually said, “Sure.”

If you liked that, be sure to check out the Amazon links at the top of this post.
And last but not least, thanks Lexi for letting me feature you this week!

Until next time!
