Good News and Somewhat Bad News

Somewhat Bad news
If you bought Pokemon Black/White and were just as excited as I was for it, you'll know about the Pokemon Global Link and the fact that it was supposed to be opened on March 30th. However, due to the 9.0 earthquake and tsunami in Japan (You did know that Pokemon was based in Japan, right?) the opening of the GL was delayed until who-knows-when.

Good News
Speaking of the earthquake, one GameInformer editor (Meagan Marie) had a red Nintendo DS, which was signed by Shigeru Miyamoto (if you don't know who this is, you don't deserve to play games[no offense]), Koji Kondo (does the musical stuff), Charles Martinet (voice actor for Mario since 1995), Eiji Aonuma (Zelda guy), and Martin Leung (a guy who plays video game music on a piano). Anyway, Meagan sold the DS on eBay for $4,050 and donated all the money to the Red Cross to help in Japan. Seriously, if I had that kind of money, I would've bought it. I mean, hardcore gaming device+signatures from famous people+donation= pure awesomeness!

PopCap (the best PC gaming company EVER) also raised $200,000 for Japan by lowering the prices of all (or most) their iOS and Android games (iOS meaning iPhones, etc) and donating all money to the Red Cross. Way to go PopCap!

So more good news than bad news, which I suppose is also good news.

PopCap rocks! Japan needs all the help they can get.
