Craft - Bottle Cap Jewelry

Learn how to make some
awesome bottle cap jewelry!
Hey all! This week, I have a craft tutorial I made. It's for some bottle cap jewelry, and I thought it would be fun to share. The materials are below. I made my necklace using the glitter method and the earrings with the sticker-paper method, but you can do whatever you want!

Materials
Glitter or paper
Stickers (optional)
Circle cutter (make sure whatever you use will fit your cap. Mine are about 1 inch)
Mod Podge
Paintbrush
Mod Podge Dimensional Magic
Plain bottle caps (can be found at most craft stores)
Earring hooks
Some kind of string for your necklace (I used craft lace)
Scissors
Hammer

Click the jump to get the instructions!

Flatten the edges of the bottle cap

STEP 0.5 - Listen to The Jellyrox  (optional, but recommended)

STEP 1 - Use the hammer to flatten the edges of the bottle caps. It might seem like a silly thing to do, but trust me, the necklace/earrings will look better.

For the necklace (Glitter Method)

Brush on Mod Podge, then add glitter.
STEP 2 - Brush Mod Podge on the inside of the bottle cap.

STEP 3 - Sprinkle glitter on the Mod Podge. After it dries, shake off the excess glitter.

STEP 4 - Put the Dimensional Magic on top of the glitter. This stuff takes a long time to dry, so be patient.

STEP 5 - Once it's TOTALLY dry, cut a piece of your string or whatever you're using for the necklace.
Add the Dimensional Magic

STEP 6 - Take both ends of the string and and put them through the hole almost all the way. When you get close to the end, put both ends through the little loop you've created and pull it tight.

STEP 7 - Trim off any excess string, and then you're done!

Put the string through the loop

For the earrings (Sticker-Paper Method)

Brush on Mod Podge, place circles.
STEP 2 - Punch out your paper circles. Make sure they're the right size to fit in your caps.

STEP 3 - Brush Mod Podge on the inside of the bottle caps.

STEP 4 - Stick the circles to the caps, then place the stickers on top if you want.

STEP 5 - Brush more Mod Podge on top. This keeps the paper from soaking up the Dimensional Magic.

Add the stickers.

STEP 6 - Once the Mod Podge has dried (wait until you can't see any more white), put the Dimensional Magic on top of the glitter. This stuff takes a long time to dry, so be patient.

Open the hooks
STEP 7 - After the stuff is totally dry, get your earring hooks and open them. You might need pliers (whoops - forgot to mention that before).

STEP 8 - Attach the hooks to the caps, close them, and you're done!

Well, that's it! I hope you enjoyed this little tutorial I put together. See you soon!
